Red Hot Chili Peppers Invade Vegas
Seminal Los Angeles funker team up with Weezer to celebrate Sin City's 100th birthday.

April 12, 2005 - Los Angeles based funk punk luminaries The Red Hot Chili Peppers have been hand-picked to headline the July 2nd Centennial concert celebrating 100 years of neon emblazoned entertainment in Las Vegas.

Joining the Peppers will be Weezer and together the two bands will perform for free (that's right f-r-e-e) outdoors on the grounds of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

"We are excited about playing a free show in Vegas celebrating the 100th birthday of the city," said Flea, bass player for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. "We can't wait to get there, feel the energy of the crowd and rock the house." Chad Smith, drummer for the Peppers added, "Playing a free show for this many fans is awesome, it should be a lot of fun."

Fifty thousand free tickets will be available for the Vegas Centennial celebration, and consumers can get them online at vegasrocks100.com beginning Monday, April 18th. The concert is part of the year long Las Vegas Centennial celebration.
