Arsenal v Newcastle
AH (-1.5)2.18
Newcastle have lost yet another striker today, Michael Chopra, whilst Shearer is a doubt and Ameobi is suspended. Dyer may play as a striker if he has shaken off his hamstring strain.
With new players like Emre and Parker all still to gel in a new look midfield, i see home advantage and Arsenals awesome attacking lineup to take full advantage.
Portsmouth v Tottenham
[0]1.85
Tottenham have done great over pre-season, and although pre-season is not always a good prediction to go by, their attacking lineup is far better than Portsmouths who in contrast have sold off probably their best striker in the summer Yakubu as well as pacey attacker Ricardo Fuller and veterens Patrick Berger and Steve Stone. They have signed big, young South African forward Collins Mbesuma to fill Yakubu's boots but it remains to be seen if has what it takes to jump from the South African League to the fast aggressive Premiership and form a good partnership with LuaLua. Also more noticeable is the aquisition of Laurent Robert, he is a master at deadball and crossing when he has time on the ball, but loses it way too cheaply when closed down. On the other hand, Tottehnham have made several useful signings themselves, but the most noticeable is Edgar Davids, man, i saw him play last weekend in a friendly with Porto, and that guy is good, but also tackles way too heavily which could see that go against us this season for sure.
Although i may be biased about Tottenham, all in all, the key man for us is will be Defoe, and if the same back line holds up and improves from last seasons solidarity, we will sneak this opener for sure.
Wigan v Chelsea
AH (deciding whether -1.5 or -2.5 is best, will update soon
Update: If Wigan sell Nathan Ellington today or tomoro, i will definitly take the -2.5, lets see!!)
