How could you not pick Manning and his 49 touchdowns?

I hate peyton, but even if I did like him I would go running back first and tomilson looks solid.

It also depends on the specifics of the league. Joe or the Tazman look like they know their shit so maybe they can toss a couple names in there.

I think Daunte Culpepper may be a good pick.

No way to determine without looking at the league's scoring system. The thing about LT is that he is consistent but there are other players that seem to be able to explode and virtually win the week for you alone like Holmes. I confess, I am a Holmes apologist, as there is NOBODY better at scoring. Also, if you are in a smaller league and can obtain maybe 4 good RB's, maybe the explosive player is worth a look, looking at weekly matchups. Consistency can sometimes paint you into a corner, I've found.
I think Culpepper will score more rushing TD's this season and do even better. I can't think Manning will approach those numbers again...defensive coordinators eventually come up with plans to work on slowing down offenses in a spotlight. He is so extreme that he is worth thinking about in the running back arena, tho, even if the throwing TDs are worth 3 points. That's still 24.5 touchdowns for a RB, and that is pretty amazing.
What you've learned from this is, I have not studied enough yet...lol.

Priest Holmes, LT, and the super sleeper at RB this year...Domanick Davis...he has done nothing but post championship-calibur RB stats the whole time he has been healthy and what does he get for it??? Rumors that Verond Morency is gonna steal carries from him this year...bullshit...the Texans gave the kid a hefty raise and a multi-year contract extension and he's gonna run his ass off again this year behind one of the most improves o-lines this season. If you keep it real quite you'll be able to wrap up Davis in early-to-mid 3rd RD. Get yourself a #1 RB and a #1 WR then grab Davis and assemble the rest of your team around a nice core. The only QB you wanna take in the 1st RD is Manning. McNabb, Culpepper, and maybe Vick (stretch) in the 3rd to 4th...remember all the rule changes in the NFL in the past 2 years help out the offense and especially help out QB's and WR's so guys like Bulger(major sleeper-might have the most Yrds and TDs of any QB this year), green, Favre, Delhomme, Collins, etc...guys you can grab in the 6th rd and down will be guys you can easily live with this year, the only major drop off is between Manning, Culpepper, and everyone else. After those 2 guys the stats and pts that separate are minimal.

Interesting take on Davis. I had him last year and was unhappy with him...he was my sleeper last year. I was surprised to see the major commitment they made to him, as there was a lot of talk about him not even keeping the starting job last season. His performance was definitely in question for me, but I still like him.
I really do not see Culpepper as a #3 or #4 rounder. He is IMO no worse than a middle 2nd rounder - depending on your leagues scoring system. I have heard a lot up here (Minny) that he will be allowed to run the ball more at the goal line this season, more like 2 and 3 years ago. There is no way to stop that...him rolling out to the right or reversing and going back to his left away from the rush, with receivers all over the end zone. It's there best goal line play, IMO.
While on the subject of Davis, I think a great sleeper (if you can call him that) at QB is David Carr. He had some terrific games last season, and Andre Johnson is absolutely awesome. One more year together for all of those guys has to mean better numbers across the board. Johnson is probably in the top 3 or 4 receivers for me, right there with Chad Johnson. I am actually hoping to have the Johnson & Johnson tandem at receiver this season.

Depending on the scoring rules for your leauge and the size, Manning is a great 1.1 pick in a TD heavy league. However, I find that I can always find a very solid QB in the 4-5th round ala Bulger,Trent Green or even Farve (non-keeper of course). It also depends on your draft position. If I'm at the tail end of a draft, I will ALWAYS pick 2 stud RB's unless of course Manning should slip to me in the 2nd. Even then I would be hard pressed to take him as 2 solid RB's are almost paramount in a 12-14 team league with 50-50 TD/Yardage scoring formats.
With that said, LT is by far the best RB in the NFL right now but not necessarily the best FF RB. The Chargers have a mean schedule in front of them in 05 and for my money, S.Alexander is not only steamed about missing the rushing title by 1 yard, but he is in his contract year with a schedule softer than that stupid toilet paper teddy bear.
I've seen Priest go #1 as well and with a defense that couldnt hold back a pop warner squad, the Chiefs offense will be trying to outscore there opponent all year vs. holding them defensivley. This equates to serious numbers again for Mr. Holmes.
Let some other Manning lover take him in the first round and concentrate on your foundation. The RB.

Way late here but wanted to throw my take on DD.
Dominick is a stud. Many don't think he can stay healthy all the time but if he does, I agree he will be right there with any of those top guys.
That being said, if anyone got him in the 3rd round then your leaguemates heads should be examined. In my 3 pools he went 9th, 12th and 14th overall.
