Opening weekend

Alright guys, glad to be back at football. Had some family affairs to take care of, but without further ado, here are some picks and thoughts on the weekend we have before us.

Thurs. Night

LSU vs Miss. St. - While I am really tempted to take LSU at -16.5, at -19.5 it's a no play for me. Blue made a comment about it in another thread that it's just too big of a public play. While I am worried about their ability to score points against solid teams, I think they should score enough tonight to at least cover the over. I see it

Saturday

VT vs. ECU

Vol has been over this for a long time and I definately agree with him that ECU will stay within 28 points here. VT has a ton of talent, but I can't see them blowing out skip holtz's team by 28. I feel like VT is gonna overlook a decent ECU team

ECU starting QB was suspended from the team Monday for a DUI he was arrested for on Saturday.

I like the pick though, no way beamers team blows out a ECU pirate team that agreed to be the whiping dog for this emotional game. Also look who Vtech plays next week, LSU.

Vol, I was looking at the DUI suspension, and Kass definately made a bonehead play, but I agree with your comments wholeheartedly regarding the emotions of the game. Someone had to be the opponent, and Beamer will respect that and I feel like call off the dogs, especially with LSU their next opponent. Probably looking at P. Pinkney starting, which, while he doesn't have a ton of game time experience, he should do ok.
