Larry Ness' 15* Team Mismatch of the Week (33-12 since Aug 7 / 116-42 this season!)
Larry "got lucky" with his 15* win last night on the Cubs (three-run 9th!). However, luck has had little to do with his 33-12 run with his 15* Game of the Week plays since Aug 7 or his simply stunning 116-42 mark with his 15-stars since Opening Day....

15* mets!!

HONDO: CATS CAN DO

September 18, 2007 -- Hondo's "go against the Yanks after they play the Red Sox" theory was disproved last night when the Bombers pummeled the Orioles to cut the cash in take to 255 griches.

Tonight, it's viva Verlander! Ten units on the Tigers to wipe that smile off Chief Wahoo's face.

According to research, 33 percent of men don't wash their hands after using the bathroom, as compared to 12 percent of women. If Hondo's calculations are correct, that would seem to indicate men are nearly three times less likely to be messy than women when relieving themselves.
C'mon, ladies, try to be more careful.

Texas (+110) at MINNESOTA

The Twins got Monday's game with the Rangers 4-3, but it was just their third win in their last 10 home games and snapped a four-game losing streak. And it took a two-run ninth-inning rally for the Twins to get Monday's game.
Minnesota got a big dose of reality Monday getting officially eliminated from the playoffs when the Yankees won. The Twins have collapsed, going 6-14 since Aug. 27 when they were just 5 1/2 games out of the AL Central lead.
Kevin Millwood (9-12, 5.51 ERA) goes for Texas and he pitched outstanding on Aug. 19 against the Twins, giving up one run on four hits in seven innings.
Carlos Silva (11-14, 4.44) is looking to win for th first time in three starts and lasted just two innings whil allowing three runs on five hits Wednesday before leaving with a pulled groin in the 6-2 loss to the Royals.
Silva is jsut 2-4 with a 4.86 ERA in eight career starts against the Rangers. This season he's got a 6.35 ERA in two starts against Texas.
It's a little sobering for the Twins to realize they are out of the playoff picture. Look for Millwood to deliver a great one today. Play Texas.

Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays
Tuesday, September 18th, 7:05 P.M. EST EST

At 7:05pm our selection is on the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays 'under' the total. It's taken a while, but Toronto's righthanded starter AJ Burnett may finally be performing up to the expectations that the Blue Jays management and fans had when they brought him here after the 2005 season. If he can stay healthy (and that's been a BIG IF with this guy) then Burnett may be in a position to have a truly breakout season in 2008. Not that his 2007 hasn't been pretty darn good (when he's pitched, he's generally been very effective) but he's been limited again to 22 starts due to injury and may not reach double-digit wins, something he was barely able to do in 2006. Boston lefty Jon Lester has also been very effective recently and he knows how to get wins for his team as he is 4-0 this season and the Red Sox are 8-1 in his nine starts since he returned from cancer treatment in late July. Lester has never faced the Blue Jays in his career, but he has been an AL East killer against the likes of Baltimore and Tampa Bay this season. The 'under' is 8-2 in Boston's last ten games on field turf and it is also 39-18-2 in Toronto's last 59 overall. Eight of the last 11 games played between these two in Toronto have gone a total of eight runs or less. - Good Luck - Big Al McMordie

(Team's Record) TAMPA BAY is 176-122 UNDER vs. a starting pitcher whose strikes out 5 or more batters per start since 1997 and the LA ANGELS are 33-18 UNDER vs. a starting pitcher whose strikes out 3 or less batters per start over the last 2 seasons.
