link to where Obama referenced his grandmother as a typical white person.
what would have happened if one of the other two candidates had said typical black person?
I am not one to get hung up on race, and actually think our country would move a lot closer to equality if we dropped our PC attitude.
I really am interested to see how the election will move once it is just McCain and Obama.

btw, this would not sway my vote.... I am still undecided. But to be honest, over the last 5 months I have really moved to more of a McCain backer..... the next couple months will be telling in which way I actually go though.

Personally I think it would have taken a strong woman to raise her daughters mixed child back in the 50's. Sadly I don't think that was an easy task.
Typical no, Strong and determined perhaps, but typical no.

We all know that if one of th other candidates said that about blacks................it would just about have been political suicide.
I agree on the PC attitude. I am subscribing to it less and less as, after all, I am not a politician.
A few years ago, the musical trio, The Dixie Chicks, caught Hell for making a comment about the Traitor-in-Chief, at a concert in London, England. The flying monkey right said, at the time, that the gals' big sin wasn't that they had a political opinion, but that they had aired that political opinion, in front of a foreign audience.
As a consequence, crowds of fanatic right-wingers not only boycotted the Chicks' domestic concerts, and tried to get them off of the radio, but they also piled up Dixie Chick CDs, and burned them.
What will the radical right-wingers burn in this situation, where the President, himself, has committed the same exact offense?
The answer, truth-seekers: their last bridge.
Fuck the GOP.
Republicans no longer have a place in American politics.
They stand for nothing, and are capable of accomplishing even less.
Fuck all of them, and their sleazy politics of personal destruction, war, corporatism, and theology.
They are a dead entity - a short blip on the history of the American political landscape, akin to the Whigs, and the 'No-Nothings.'
And they did it all to themselves.
THEY LOST MARYLAND, ILL, MISS. AND LOUISA. ..THATS 0-4 .....THEY ARE TOAST

The Dixie Chicks survived .......
It's funny I have not seen the Demos secede from "the System" yet. They must still believe in the process to keep participating in it. I see them soliciting funds from corporations, participating in the war, and getting involved with religious issues.
The nice thing about the US is that everyone can freely put out their opinions whether they be right or wrong. My family came from a place that was under Communist rule for 50 years. There you paid with your life if you disagreed.

lots and lots of fun!
sounds like the Washington state democratic primary.... much needed, no waste of money there.
oh lets not even get started on super delegates almost makes the last couple months worthless, when your fate comes down to who can pocket the most super delegates. I doubt any of those votes have been bought....lol.
