State Police have charged two Amsterdam men in connection with an illegal numbers running operation.
Gerard Buczek, 52, and Michael DelCostello, 61, were charged with first-degree possession of gambling records.
Police said Buczek collected bets at Betty's Diner on Locust Avenue where he worked and delivered them to DelCostello. Police said the operation took in approximately 3,000 transactions weekly.
Police seized $6,500 in cash from DelCostello and more than 1,000 plays. Buczek's truck was also seized.
Both Buczek and DelCostello were released to return to court Tuesday.
